Welcome to the SD-WAN Mastery Collection – Managing the Application Experience (A-SDW-APPEXP) Cisco® Training on Demand course. This course is for anyone who is responsible for ensuring that network users have an optimized application experience for both on premise and cloud-based applications.
This collection of videos starts with a review of how the vManage policy builder is used to provision policies. It then goes into a detailed discussion of how to set up QoS which then leads to a discussion of application-aware routing. After learning these optimization techniques, you learn how to offload traffic with direct internet access. The course wraps up with detailed discussions and demonstrations on Cloud onRamp for SaaS and for IaaS. Both of these use different types of set up wizards, so extra time is spent walking through the configuration tasks prior to the demonstrations.
To help you get the most out of this course, the subject matter experts not only spend time discussing operation and deployment best practices, they also perform demonstrations that include a detailed look at verification using selected vManage tools such as Trace Route, Application Visualization and Simulate Flows.
Some of the videos in this collection are taught by one or more subject matter experts and panelists. Other videos are desktop recordings created by field engineers and focus on lab demonstrations. After spending time with these subject matter experts you should be able to determine when to use each application optimization feature and how to deploy and verify their operation.

Describe the differences between a local and control policy and when each is used
Describe the four elements of building a QoS policy, class maps and classifications, schedulers and QoS map, and configure and verify QoS using these elements
Explain how application-aware routing operates, when it can be used and how to configure and verify operation
Explain how Direct Internet Access (DIA) operates, when it can be used and how to configure and verify operation
Explain the differences between Cloud onRamp for IaaS and SaaS and configure and verify operation of each
Use vManage tools such as Trace Route, Application Visualization and Simulate Flows to view how application traffic is routed through the network and verify if the application optimization features are working as intended
