Welcome to the SD-WAN Mastery Collection – Developing the Overlay Topology (A-SDW-OVRLAY) Cisco® Training on Demand course. This course is for anyone who needs to modify the default SD-WAN overlay operation to meet business needs.
Since many of the overlay modifications are done using policies, mastering the ability to interpret policy configurations and creating policies is key to a successful SD-WAN deployment. To that end, the first topic you learn about is policies and the Policy Builder in vManage. In the remainder of the course, common overlay modification features are discussed and demonstrated. The features covered include: creating hub and spoke topologies on a per VPN basis, defining VPN membership restrictions, setting up Transport Location (TLOC) extension, enabling route prioritization, and service insertion and service chaining. For each feature, you learn how it operates, its purpose, how to decode a preexisting configuration, and how to plan, provision and verify feature operation.
Some of the lessons in this collection are taught by one or more subject matter experts who are supported by several panelists who contribute to the lectures with questions, their knowledge or their own experiences. Other videos are desktop recordings created by field engineers and focus on lab demonstrations. After spending time with these subject matter experts, you should be able to successfully modify your overlay topology in a variety of ways to meet network requirements.
Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
List and describe the four steps that define the Policy Builder.
Use the vManage policy builder to provision different types of overlay topologies, such as hub and spoke on a per VPN basis and VPN membership restrictions.
Explain how TLOC extension and route prioritization operate and support high availability goals.
Use the vManage configuration templates and policy builder to provision and verify TLOC extension and route prioritization operation.
Explain how service insertion operates using firewall services as an example.
Use the vManage policy builder to provision and verify service insertion.
