Hand Drill – Substance Painter – Jason Ord

Hand Drill – Substance Painter – Jason Ord
English | Size: 3.3GB
Category: 3D

After much request, here’s my Substance Painter project file for the hand drill. This is intended as a learning resource that coincides with my Artstation Learning course titled ‘Substance Painter: Pushing Your Texturing Further’.

The default document resolution when opening is 1024×1024 for ease of opening, but feel free to set this higher once you’ve opened the project.

This product includes:

Substance Painter source file (T_FIX_Handdrill_01.spp)
Optimized source file for lower-end PC’s (T_FIX_Handdrill_01_LITE.spp)
Hand drill static mesh .fbx
Baked Maps (AO, Curvature, Normal, World Normal, Position, Thickness)
Final Textures (Albedo, AORM & Normal)

I’ve spent time optimizing the layer stack to an extent due to computing times being fairly unreasonable as a result of all the anchor points. I’ve minimized the effect this has on the final textures and it still demonstrates all the techniques from the Learning course. I’d recommend lowering the document resolution if it continues to be an issue.
Some paid textures have been swapped out for licensing/commercial purposes, so whilst I have tried to keep this as accurate to the Learning course, there will be very minor differences (namely in dust/smudge distribution). Despite this, the final result is very much the same.

Release Notes

Optimized base Painter file
Added LITE Painter file version
Merged Normal adjustments to single LITE texture file
Removed lesser detail layers

*Requires at least Substance Painter 2020.2.2 to open
